The higher rates will not apply to purchases of caravans, mobile homes or houseboats, or to corporate entities or funds making significant investments in residential property. The government will consult on the policy detail, including on whether an exemption for corporate entities and funds owning more than 15 residential properties is appropriate.

Frazer has sent an email outlining his thoughts on the issue. Makes for interesting & convinving reading. Will wait though as the devil is in the detail to see exactly what the government has planned. The Landlord's association boss (unfortunately have not got thread link) seemed a lot more pessimistic than Frazer & one can see both sides of the argument in temrs of how it will pan out. In reality though, no one knows until a few months/years of living with new rules. Will try & search for aforementioned link & also happy to post link to Frazer's analysis if anyone wants.
